"Hey [Y/N]." You turned to face your best friend Alfred as he spoke your name. The two of you sat on a hill as you watched the sun set while eating hamburgers. It was something that the two of you always did, especially after school since the two of you both always got out at sun set time. Today just happened to be Alfred's birthday, thus, the two of you had no school because it was July 4th. Summer time. A time where the sun always set in a more of a red color.

"Hmm?" You answered him as you took the last bite out of your hamburger and tossing the wrapper in your bag. You would throw that away later.

"Do you know why the sun sets red?" He asked. You snorted. Was he really asking you that? Wasn't that a line from a video game or something? Man could Alfred be random and hilarious at times -at the same time too.

"No, why?" You said, deciding to play along. Alfred started the "story".

"Out of all of the colors that travel in the sun set, red is the one that goes the farthest." It really wasn't much of a story but it did make you smile. Alfred always made you smile. You two were best friends eve since kindergarten and...of course it was natural to develop a slight crush on him. It wasn't your fault that he was so...himself. You just fell in love with him.

"And why is it red?" You asked. Alfred looked at the sunset then back to you. He smiled. For once he didn't know what to say -for a chatterbox. You laughed as Alfred blushed for what seemed to be no apparent reason. "Now YOU are red." You teased him.

Alfred looked the other way and blushed a bit more. You were now starting to question this. You then got an idea. "Do you know why you're so red?" You laughed, you were teasing Alfred yet again.

"BecauseIlikeyou." He mumbled.

"What?" You couldn't hear what he said. He only sighed.

"Look..." He faced you and stopped blushing. "I like you." Now it was your turn to blush.

"Now who's red?" Alfred laughed at you. You pouted.

"Alfred...you better run!" You yelled as you stood up and slightly laughed. Alfred only laughed back at you and started running. You chased him.

Damn did you love him...even if you to would just stay friends for now.
